Project Description

Radford Mill has been transformed into a 450-apartment development for students.
The developers, Mabec, were interested exploring how BIM could be applied to a project with traditional drawings and now 3D model. They commissioned Activeplan to take 2D plans and schedules of what was being purchased and create a simple Asset Information Model as an improvement to the traditional set of O&Ms.
It now contains a detailed asset list of the elements that will require replacement and maintenance plus 360 photographs of space types that are connected to the asset lists for those spaces. These can be used to inform condition surveys and a history of future repairs.
