The Central Quad, and its sister building the East Quad, span 52,000m2 of development, being delivered via a €300m Public Private Partnership. They will provide academic facilities for ten schools from the College of Sciences & Health, the College of Engineering & Built Environment and the College of Arts and & Tourism from TU Dublin.
Sodexo has responsibility for managing the facilities until 2045 and was keen to ensure the handover information is complete and the Asset Information is easily used and maintained. They introduced Activeplan to provide the platform to create an Asset Information Requirements to help the contractors deliver what they need.
Sodexo uses Activeplan AMM to manager their libraries of asset types and related maintenance schedules that they use to model and optimise the labour resourcing, prior to populating their CMMS applications such as Maximo and QFM.
Activeplan has provided the contractors access to the platform to make it easier for them to provide the information and self-validate their COBie submissions. Activeplan is federating the 54 COBie submissions and relating them to the federated geometric models.
Schedules of the assets for each space are being generated for onsite validation and the results brought back into the Asset Information Model.
Once complete, the coordinated asset information will pass into Activeplan AMM to assist with the mobilisation and into QFM and any other applications Sodexo will be using.
The construction team is also providing a conventional O&M to include information that is out of scope for the BIM deliverable so Activeplan is supporting Sodexo with processes and support to review what is being provided and provide the supply chain with feedback.
