Project Description

Coventry University Energy Centre was part of a large development designed by Broadway Malyan and built by BAM Construction and their M&E contractor, NG Bailey. The University wanted the project to deliver Level 2 and for the asset data to populate their Planon CAFM solution.

Activeplan was brought in to manage that process and provide the platform to assimilate the trade contractors information and create a coordinated asset information model.

Although much smaller than the main building, the energy centre contained many of the M&E assets that would require maintenance and was completed ahead of rest of the development so it was decided to use that as a testing ground.

Activeplan worked with Planon and the University’s estates team to agree what data they needed it and delivered that as a COBie Spreadsheet and a COBieLite file that Planon was able to successfully import.
